Libni was a son of Gershon and grandson of Levi and ancestor of a Gershonite clan.
Biography
Exodus 6 and Numbers 3 list Libni among the sons of Gershon. His descendants, the Libnites, formed one of the Gershonite clans responsible for portions of the tabernacle's fabrics and coverings. Chronicles also preserves related Levitical genealogies.
Biblical Significance
Libni is significant as an ancestor within the Gershonite division of Levi. His importance is primarily genealogical and organizational.
