SONS OF GOD (NEW TESTAMENT)
In the New Testament, believers become sons of God through faith in Jesus Christ, by spiritual birth and adoption. This sonship brings God’s love, care, discipline, inheritance, and a family likeness, and will be fully revealed at Christ’s coming.
Biblical Usage
Believers possess sonship now, though its full manifestation is reserved for Christ’s coming. They receive God’s love, care, comfort, chastisement, inheritance, and the Spirit of adoption. Evidence of sonship includes being led by the Spirit, confidence in God, love for fellow believers, and obedience.
