SONS OF GOD
“Sons of God” chiefly refers in Job and the Psalms to heavenly beings or angels who stand before God and serve Him. In Genesis 6:2,4 the expression is debated, with interpretations referring either to human groups or to supernatural beings.
Biblical Usage
In Job and the Psalms, the phrase has no physical or moral reference; it identifies beings belonging to the same order as the heavenly beings. In Genesis, some interpret it of human groups, while others understand it of supernatural beings associated with the account preceding the Flood.
