Silas
Silas, also called Silvanus, was a leading member of the Jerusalem church and a prophetic teacher. He carried the Jerusalem council’s decision and later accompanied Paul on his second missionary journey.
Biblical Usage
Silas carried the Jerusalem council’s decision to Antioch with Judas Barsabas, encouraged the believers as a prophet, and accompanied Paul on much of his second missionary journey. He shared Paul’s preaching, imprisonment, and correspondence with the churches.
