SCAB, SCABBED
A scab or scabbed condition is a skin disease marked by hard, crusted patches. Under the law, some cases caused ceremonial uncleanness, while milder localized cases required priestly examination.
Biblical Usage
Under the law, localized and mild patches were examined by the priest and did not necessarily make the person unclean. More severe or spreading eruptions caused ceremonial uncleanness. A comparable condition could disqualify a son of Aaron from priestly service or make an animal unfit for sacrifice.
