SAVOR
Savor may mean taste, flavor, or smell, especially the pleasant fragrance of sacrifices. Figuratively, Scripture uses it for reputation and for the influence of Christ and His servants, which is received differently by different people.
Biblical Usage
Scripture uses savor for salt’s taste, the sweet odor of sacrifices and offerings, and metaphorically for the apostles’ witness and Christ’s offering. The apostles are a sweet savor of Christ to God, though their message has differing effects on people. The word may also describe reputation and discernment of the things of God.
