Lystra
Lystra was a city of Lycaonia where Paul healed a lame man, was worshiped with Barnabas as a god, and later was stoned. Timothy lived there and became Paul’s companion.
Biblical Usage
Paul preached at Lystra, healed a man lame from birth, and was mistakenly honored with Barnabas as Hermes and Zeus. After Jewish opposition, Paul was stoned and left for dead, but later returned to encourage the disciples. Timothy lived there and became Paul’s companion.
