Shallecheth
Shallecheth was a gate of the temple, located by the causeway leading upward. Its name may mean “casting out,” and it has been identified by some with a western gate of the temple area.

Shallecheth was one of the gates of the house of Jehovah. It stood by the causeway of the ascent, and its name is associated with overthrow or casting out.

The gate is named in 1 Chronicles 26:16 among the temple gates and is specifically connected with the causeway of the ascent.
Historical Background
Because the causeway was understood to have existed, Shallecheth was identified with the western gate called Bab Silsileh or Sinsleh, entering the west wall of the Haram about six hundred feet from its southwest corner.

(overthrow), The gate, one of the gates of the “house of Jehovah.” (1 Chronicles 26:16) It was the gate “to the causeway of the ascent.” As the causeway is actually in existence, the gate Shallecheth can hardly fail to be identical with the Bab Silsileh or Sinsleh which enters the west wall of the Haram about 600 feet from the southwest corner of the Haram wall.
