Left-handed
A left-handed person used the left hand in preference to the right or could use both hands. Left-handed warriors were notably found among the tribe of Benjamin.
Definition
A left-handed person was one who could not use the right hand skillfully and therefore used the left, or one able to use both hands. Left-handedness is attributed to physical causes.
Biblical Usage
Left-handed warriors appear in Judges 3:15 and 20:16. The biblical examples are associated with the tribe of Benjamin.
Historical Background
The condition appears to have been relatively common among Benjamites.
